Free Gillette Bodywash

In last weekends paper, there was a coupon for $4 off 2 Gillette bodywashes.  On some of the endcaps around men's deoderants, there is a hanging rack of smaller size (but not travel size) Gillette bodywashes.  This size is $1.52 or so.  Buying two of that size is still under $4 so they would be free!  It's a great size for gym bags....or at least Rob thinks so.

Chipotle Deal

Chipotle is one of my favorite places to eat and they almost never have deals, much less coupons.  So, this sounds promising.  If you buy a $25 giftcard to Chipotle, you can redeem your receipt on your next visit for a free burrito, bowl, or tacos.  I figure I'll easily spend $25 there anyway, so I might as well get a free meal out of the deal!

Coke Points to use up?

If you save Coke Points, then this is a good opportunity to redeem some of them.

Target currently has B1G1 coupons on their website for 20oz Coke bottles.  This, in and of itself, is a decent deal.  BUT, since you can pair a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon, it would be a good time to redeem points for the Free 20 oz Coke coupon which would make it two free cokes!

On a related note, for the time being, you can print as many of these coupons from the Target site as you want.  Usually it is limited to two, but until this glitch is caught by Target, print away!!!

Free Holiday Coffee

Go HERE to print your coupon for a free 20oz coffee or cappucino at Holiday Gast stations.  Back when they had their last free coffee coupon I stopped in frequently and I must say, it's not bad.  Flavored syrup, flavored cream, good coffee....and free!  Can't beat that!  The coupon doesn't expire until 3/28....use it again and again.

Cheap Hasbro Card Games

Coupons.com has some coupons up right now for $4 and $5 off Hasbro games.  Walmart has some Hasbro card games (Scrabble, Pictureka, Monopoly, Sorry, et al.) for $5.24.  Using the coupons.com coupon makes these very cheap.  Also, grab a pack that has the yellow "starburst" int he corner that says "$5 Bonus" (or something like that).  Inside is another $5 coupon that also works on these games with no beeps from the registers.  Cheap fun!  Might make nice little gifts for last minute birthday invites for the kids.

Update:  Now it seems that coupon is missing from their website...but you can still find the $5 off coupon inside the packages...

Rainbow Double Daze

I tried something new today.  I went to Rainbow Foods for their coupon double day.  Typically at Rainbow, on Wednesdays (and sometimes Saturdays), you can double up to 5 coupons with a $25 purchase.  Although intriguing, 5 doubled coupons didn't seem like enough to get me to rearrange my Wednesday schedule.  But, today, they were willing to double 10 coupons.  You can double any coupon $1 and under.  I had plenty of $1 coupons so I wrote down my plan and set forth.

I did two transactions.  16 items in both transactions.  I spent $24 in transaction #1 and saved $27.  I spent $24 in transaction #2 and saved $37.34.  However, with the coupons I had, my doubled coupons only saved me $13.80 and $22.99, respectively.  The other "savings" reported on my receipt were from things being on sale. 

Although I think those are great numbers, I'm not sold on this process yet.  We typically do our grocery shopping at Walmart for most everything and Super Target or Cub for produce.  And Rainbow, that store is just plain expensive.  Even with a doubled coupon, I ended up paying more for some items than I would at Walmart without a doubled coupon.

Ex:
Ritze Crackers at Rainbow = $3.46
$1 Coupon doubled = -$2
Total = $1.46

Ritz Crackers at Walmart = $2
$1 Coupon (no double) = -$1
Total = $1

Ex2:
Skippy Natural @ Rainbow = 2.29
Total after doubled coupon = $1.59

Skippy Natural @ Walmart = $1.82
Total after coupon = $1.47

I have more examples, but that's enough.  It's not to say I didn't score some good deals (free coffee mate, tuna, and yogurt).  I think if I shopped at Rainbow enough to know what was a good deal there and what was overpriced there, and then used my coupons accordingly, I could make this system work.  But, in the meantime, I think I might remain loyal to good ol' Wally World.

Frugal tip

If there is something you really love to buy, but hate when you only  have one coupon for said item, check out eBay, or other coupon sites to see if you can purchase more coupons.  I know buying coupons sounds counteractive, but most coupons cost about $0.10 each (usually less) and the savings can equal much more than you pay. 

I just bought a set of 20 $1 off coupons for some juice my family likes.  I paid $2.50 for all twenty (that includes the shipping).  I paired the coupons with a clearance on our juice and was able to get the V8 Fusion (normally over $3/bottle) for half price.  Just make sure you check the expiration date of the coupons before purchasing and figure out if you can use all those coupons before then.  Juice has a long shelf life, but other items wouldn't work as well.

Free Bowling @ Brunswick

Free Oreos on Facebook

If you become a "fan" of Oreos on facebook, (click here) then click on the "free cookies" button and you will get a coupon in the mail for a free package of golden oreos.  It's for the first 150,000, after that it's a $1 off coupon.  Act fast.  As of 7:30pm on Monday they still had some "free pack" coupons left.  You can always "unfan" them later if you want.

Coke coupon

It's pretty rare to come across a manufacturer's coupon for coke products, but there is one out there right now.  There is a coupon (HERE) for $2 off the purchase of 4 -12 packs.  It's typical to see 12 packs on sale for 4/$11 lately and with the coupon, that would make them each $2.25.  Not bad.  If you have an abundance of coke points, perhaps you'd be better off just using the "Free 12 pack" coupons?  It seems you can print as many coupons as you want, so if you come across a great coke deal, stock up...and leave a comment here so the rest of us can stock up too!

Cheap Tuna

Yuck, I hate tuna, and the smell of it repulses me.  Yet, I know many enjoy it (including my husband) so here is a good deal.

CLICK HERE for a $1 off coupon for one tuna pouch.  One tuna pouch is usually about $1.50 or less at Walmart making the tuna really cheap.  Take the coupon to Rainbow foods on a Wednesday and they'll double it, probably making it free, or close to it.  Remember you can print 2 per computer.
